pyrajane’s review #18: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
I adored this book. It was romantic in all sorts of ways and it made me want to reread all of the Anne of Green Gables books.
I’m sure many would find it sickeningly sweet and would see it as puppies and rainbows and presents for everyone, but I didn’t read it that way. It was too much like Anne‘s books for me to be cynical. And I’m always cynical.
Pick this up if you’re in the mood for sweetness and happy endings.
