In which Siege returns once again from another long absence to rave about the literary stylings of James Ellroy.
Good god, I love James Ellroy. I cannot recommend his LA trilogy or American Tabloid highly enough. And yes, I know it’s weird to be such a fan and also be what is considered to be a “soccer mom”, but to me, his writing (when it is good, and sadly, not all of it is) is electric.
Oh, and if you read The Black Dahlia, try and rent his documentary about it after. Totally fascinating and entertaining, and still very sad after all these years.
